A Symbolic Gesture
To commemorate the heroes and heroines of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar, together with 89 ambassadors and representatives of Polish and Israeli diplomatic missions in 52 countries worldwide, joined this year’s Daffodils Campaign.
For the Third Time
At the invitation of ELNET (European Leadership Network), the Foreign Ministers of both countries and their ambassadors joined the educational campaign organized by the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews, marking the 82nd anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
This year’s edition of the Daffodils Campaign takes on a special diplomatic significance. The joint participation of the Foreign Ministers of Poland and Israel is not only a gesture of remembrance but also a signal of rebuilding trust. Recently, the dialogue between the two countries has gained new momentum – it has become more open, based on mutual respect, and shows a renewed readiness for cooperation. It is also a strong and symbolic expression of shared responsibility for preserving the memory of the Holocaust victims and the heroes who fought for dignity, freedom, and humanity.

“The memory of those who fought in the Warsaw Ghetto is our shared heritage. It is an honor for us to participate once again in this unique initiative, which expresses respect and tribute to the insurgents,” said Marta Kubica, CEO of the ELNET’s Warsaw office. “By pinning the symbolic daffodil, we not only pay tribute to the victims and heroes of the uprising, but we also build bridges of memory between generations in Poland, Israel, and around the world. This is an important gesture that reminds us that history requires constant reflection and dialogue,” she added.
The Daffodils Campaign
The Daffodils Campaign is not just about pinning a daffodil – it is also an extensive program of educational events, debates, and artistic initiatives held in Poland and abroad. The campaign, organized by the POLIN Museum of History of Polish Jews in cooperation with partners worldwide, reminds us of the power of memory and the importance of jointly commemorating history.
ELNET, which initiated the joint participation of Polish and Israeli diplomatic representatives in the Daffodils Campaign in 2021, is a non-profit NGO working to deepen relations between Europe and Israel, based on shared democratic values and strategic cooperation.
