ELNET Brings Israeli Survivors to Speak at the European Parliament Today

Today the European Parliament heard the harrowing testimonies of Israelis survivors and victims of Hamas’ attack.

Organized by ELNET, the victims shared their stories at a meeting of the European Parliament official delegation for Israel (DIL).

Prior to the meeting, they met with President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

The shocking testimonies tell of incomprehensible barbarism alongside true acts of heroism and bravery. Sharing their personal stories of survival were residents of Kibbutz Nachal Oz, Adi Cherry together with her husband and three young children aged 16, 12, and 9, and Elad Puterman together with his wife and 7-month old baby. Danielle Gallia-Kind, a representative of the families of the hostages, also spoke at the meeting demanding that all the kidnapped hostages be returned home immediately without condition.

It was an extremely powerful and moving session, and received tremendous support and empathy from MEPs who took the floor supporting the victims and urging them to continue sharing their stories.

The session, which was chaired by MEP Antonio López-Istúriz White and attended by Israel’s Ambassador to the EU and NATO Haim Regev, was livestreamed to an even greater audience.

The full recording of the testimonies is available here.

ELNET deeply appreciates that despite the unimaginable turmoil these individuals are experiencing, they still found it within them to undertake this trip and share their stories for all of Europe to hear. It is crucial for European leaders to hear the first-hand account of Hamas’ terror attack and share it with others in order to eradicate the threat of terror completely.

Tomorrow, October 19, the Plenary of the European Parliament will vote on an important resolution about the war initiated by Hamas, and ELNET EU+NATO is working hard to raise awareness prior to the vote. No doubt today’s session will have a significant impact on the final outcome.
