Security and innovation: Greece and Cyprus stand firmly by Israel

ELNET’s Israel Survey conducted in Greece and Cyprus shows: support for Israel remains strong. This year’s survey, presented in Athens in October, revealed that lawmakers from both nations view their relations with Israel positively, emphasizing shared values and security interests. A majority of Greek and Cypriot MPs favor expanding cooperation with Israel, particularly in defense, technology, health, and energy. Support for strengthening foreign policy ties, especially regarding the Abraham Accords and Israel-NATO collaboration, is notably high.

Despite its vast gas reserves, Iran struggles with energy shortages due to sanctions, outdated infrastructure and a brain drain in its energy sector. Strengthening Europe – Israel Relations: Highlights from ELNET’s European Affairs Delegation

In late October, ELNET hosted delegation of MPs from Germany’s Bundestag European Affairs committee and MEPs from Latvia and the Czech Republic, focusing on Israel’s innovation ecosystem, and its geopolitical challenges post-October 7. This program aimed at reinforcing the importance of European-Israeli partnerships in driving technology and sustainability and addressing global challenges.
