On Sunday, November 15th, we held the first ELNET Virtual Gala. While we hope to see an end to the global COVID-19 pandemic and again host in-person events, we are grateful for our many friends and supporters who participated in this special virtual event. In case you missed the Gala or would like to watch it again, you can view the selected highlights below.
Hearing from Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, as well as other leading Israeli dignitaries, including Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and Knesset Opposition Leader Yair Lapid, is a testament to the high regard in which Israel holds ELNET’s work. The support of friends who understand the importance of our work is critical to helping us to continue in our efforts.
“The history of the Jewish people & the history of Europe are bound together,” said President Reuven Rivlin. “Nowadays, the State of Israel and nations of Europe share democratic values of freedom and human dignity. You in ELNET are here to make sure that we remember how much we have in common.“
“Europe is important for Israel; after the United States it is the most important partner or player for us in the region,” stressed Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi in a one-on-one interview with Brig. Gen. Michael Herzog. “ELNET is a vital player in Europe,” he added.
Yair Lapid, Chairman of the Yesh Atid party and Knesset Opposition Leader noted “Despite some disagreements, Israel and Europe remain strategic partners. “We share a common set of values & common interests. ELNET is a tremendous asset to this relationship.”
