31 French Parliamentarians Visit Israel

A delegation of 31 French parliamentarians visited Israel from June 30 to July 2 as part of the “France-Israel Friendship Mission”. The group had series of political meetings with their Knesset counterparts including Speaker of the Israeli Parliament Yuli Edelstein, President of the Israel-France Friendship Group and Kulanu Party Member Eli Elalouf, Knesset Member for Yesh Atid Party Yair Lapid, and Member of Knesset of the Zionist Union Omer Bar- Lev. They were also received by the Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu with whom they discussed the regional challenges facing Israel, as well as by Mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat, who spoke about the economic attractiveness of the city, the habitat and cultural projects. The IDF Spokesman Ronen Manelis hosted the French parliamentarians on the roof of the Ministry of Defense for a special briefing about the security situation. The delegation visited also the Old City of Jerusalem and its archaeological sites, as well as the Yad Vashem.
