ELNET Hosts First-Ever Czech MP Delegation

For the first time ever, ELNET brought to Israel a delegation of Members of Parliament from the Czech Republic. The 10-member delegation was led by the Chair of the Czech Foreign Affairs Committee, and included the Chair of the Internal Security Committee and several members of the Israeli-Czech Friendship group. With a focus on improving Czech-Israeli security cooperation, the visit included meetings with high-level Israeli diplomats, the Jerusalem Police Commander, Chair of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Israel, among others. The delegation also placed an emphasis on Israel’s crisis management and emergency response infrastructure, visiting Rambam Hospital’s Fortified Underground Emergency Center, and the Mashabim Center for Community Stress Prevention.

The Czech delegation marks yet another success for ELNET’s increasingly expanding activity across Central Eastern Europe, a key region for strategic and economic partnership with Israel. This activity has recently included the first Baltic Delegation and the first delegation from the Polish-Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group in Israel. In addition, ELNET is currently holding the first Romania-Israel Strategic Dialogue, and will be holding the first Central Eastern Europe Delegation and Strategic Dialogue in Israel this summer.
